SecretHub was founded on the belief that security shouldn’t slow you down. Great security should enable you to do more, not less. Since 2018, SecretHub is helping engineering teams to deliver safer software to production faster, with secrets management integrations for the DevOps toolchain.

Overview

SecretHub was looking to bring on a designer to update their brand and help develop, establish, and lead the design and front-end for their business going forward.

I worked closely with each member of the engineering and marketing team to understand their product more and discover the key benefits and features it offers to users, enabling me to start developing a solution to boost their presence and user base.

Aims

To work with the team at SecretHub to update their existing website so it has more personality while refactoring the front-end codebase to reduce technical debt using a component-based approach. As well as beginning to develop a design system to help drive their brand and product further.

The outcome

In the short-term, I gradually iterated on the design and front-end to give a bigger visual presence for their brand giving their marketing team more to work with while proposing and developing a complete brand and front-end refresh in the form of a design system. This would allow the website including applications to be scalable, accessible, and improve performance technically, as well as financially through conversion and user retainment.

My goal with the design refresh was to give SecretHub more a bolder presence visually, highlighting their core colours further and introducing elements to help elevate their brand image, you can see the beginning of this below.
